Happy Birthday Big Boy!

Wow, has it really been 2 years?

April 29, 2009
It was a fun birthday for all of us. Cooper actually understood the concept of a birthday this year which made it fun for Caleb and I to buy presents for him. Caleb was super excited to give him the scooter and I had fun picking out random toys at the dollar store (can't beat that price!). Turns out his favorite toy from the lot was the dollar store play-money. Go figure. He also had us do the birthday cake process (us singing "Happy Birthday" and him blowing out the candles) a grand total of 4 times because he enjoyed it so much! Hey, whatever makes the boy happy on his birthday!

We finally went bowling!

After 623 times of Cooper saying, "Indianapolis, bowling!", we finally made it to the bowley alley. Coop loved it and did great in taking turns with Mom and Dad. I love his face when his ball pops out. So exciting! And yes, he did beat me ;-)

All smiles!

This one is cuter in landscape view but after 6 tries with blogger refusing to turn it, I decided you can just turn your head.

Here I am trying to get a cute video of Carter smiling and look what happens. Oh the joys of potty training!

You know you're a big boy when...

...you can make your little brother smile.

...you sleep in a big boy bed. ...and you wear big boy underwear!

(we're are still working on that last one :-)

Mamma's Boy

And that is an understatment. I like to believe that it's because I'm such a great Mom that he just doesn't let anyone else help him, cuddle him, rescue him, calm him, babysit him, or do anything for him really. And as much as I'm annoyed by it sometimes, I just can't help but love him for it! What can I say, I love be loved!

(Didn't Caleb do a great job as photographer?!)

Correction!!

It's the first weekend of may, but everything else is right.

Graduation PARTY!!!

I was wondering if any of you would be able to come up this weekend, the weekend of the 25th of April, for a Graduation BBQ. I know that a lot of you didn't think this day would come and honestly neither did I, but it's happening. We were thinking around 2 pm on Saturday. Just let us know if you can come cause that would be fun. I hope to see all of you there.

Love,

Broc

Being a Big Brother

As far as being a big brother goes, I think Coop's got it down. He loves to stick the binky back in Carter's mouth. He enjoys holding the baby (but no longer than 3 seconds). If Carter cries, he's worried. And the best part of all, I can leave the two of them in the same room and not worry about big brother bullying.
I just can't seem to get enough of these two!

A try at Family Pictures

Any with kids know how difficult it is to try and get a decent family picture with a 2 year old and a newborn. Let's just say we tried and they turned out okay.

All in a Day's Work

It started out with Carter's blessing. Caleb did a marvelous job and Carter didn't make a peep although he was awake the whole time. We had a plethera of family and friends there to support us and we couldn't be more grateful for the effort they took to be there!

We then got to have a little pre-celebration for our big 2 year old since we will be in Indianapolis for his real birthday on the 29th. Coop blew out his 2 candles all by himself and I think he really liked his "vrum, vrum" cake (I sure enjoyed making it). This was his, "Don't even think about taking my cupcake" look. I guess he thought one of his cousins was eyeing it.

And last but definitely not least, we celebrated Easter with some egg coloring, egg hunting, ham dinner, family, baskets, lots of candy, and of course, my favorite, Easter outfits!

Happy Easter!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa, you are awesome! Thanks for the wonderful swim suits. Can't wait till you can see them on the kids in person!

Hey he's sitting up!

Six and a half months old and he conquers the next milestone. He can sit by himself. At least long enough for a picture!

Aubrey's Birthday Tea Party

Every girl needs at least one tea-party in her life. Complete with spring dresses, tiny tea-cups, white gloves and spring hats and purses. Of course Aubrey had to add in a pinata and Hannah Montana as well. Anything for the birthday girl. This was so much fun for mom to plan! I had a blast desiging a party around at Spring Tea theme. The cake was a ton of fun to make and turned out great (no sagging masts or sinking pirate ships this time). It was great to have Garrett and Dalyn involved as the well-mannered servers and Aubrey was full of generous thanks and praise for all the work that her family put into her special day. "Mom, you are the best maker (cake maker) ever!" "this is the greatest birthday I've ever had in my whole entire life." "Daddy, you are the best pinata holder ever." With that kind of thanks she'll be getting a party every year!
She had 9 friends, including her cousin Jade who drove all the way from Wenatchee with Tyler to help Aubrey celebrate. She was showered with love, and she deserves every ounce. We made lace covered fans, decorated our personalized tea cups and hats, did a purse walk and a pinata, then ate a yummy lunch with our best tea-party manners. It was such fun.
