Amazing Cake

For my birthday, the wives here in Virginia made me a most beautiful cake. I had to show it to you all. The girls who made it (Heidi & Jenny) took a cake decorationg class that Mindy and I will be taking in the fall. Fun, fun!

Cooper Update

Daddy did great finding the coming home outfit. Luckily though, Cooper doesn't roar like a lion, in fact he doesn't roar very much at all.

He did not like his first bath but has since learned to enjoy them.

He loves his car seat, thank goodness, since he spent more than 30 hours in it on our long drive to Virginia.

The Hero Conquers the Dragon

Once upon a time there was a boy who LOVED his dragon kite from Grandma and Grandpa. It was a fine, VERY windy day and the boy decided to fly his kite. When he kindly let his younger brother hold the string, the kite pulled from his brother's tiny grasp and went sailing over the rooftops. The little boy Garrettt was beyond distraught, to the point of near hysteria.But hark and hallelughia, the string got caught on the rooftop of his house. Ahh, the dragon is saved, the boy is appeased and all is well. Now the dilemna, how to get the Kite untangled? Mom tries her hand at the pitiful feat while Dad waits below to "catch" the dragon. Mom gets the kite unhitched, hooray..... oh ooops, oh noooooo, the kite flies high and fast, racing past the waiting dad! Dad races off and Garrett dissolves into near hysteria once again. The kite flies at tremendous speed with Flash Gordon Dad in hot pursuit. They quickly leave our line of sight and fly toward the distand trees. Did Dad catch it? Is the kite safe? Is it caught in the trees. Is that the kite we see heading our way? Can it really be? Oh my glorious windy day... it is Dad pulling the now docile, once wayward dragon to his home. Dad the Hero conquers the dragon. Sweet memories in the making!

The Newest Addition...

Ashlyn and Emma love their newest cousin! We visited the Popes Sunday night and everyone was doing fabulous! Ashlyn couldn't get enough of this cute baby boy. She guessed that he weighed 5 pounds....not too far off.:) Congratulations, Cassi and Caleb!

New Arrival!!!!!

Here is our first family picture with Baby Boy. As you can see, Cassi is still the best looking one in the family, with Baby Boy in a close second, even after they both went through labor and delivery.

Baby Shower BBQ!

Thanks to Bret and Kathleen for hosting the Baby Shower BBQ! It was a ton of fun for everyone. The weather ended up being gorgeous (in fact, everyone got burned:)). Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for bringing the Gazillion Bubbles machine - it was a huge hit We love you all!

Fun Filled Weekend

Mon March 12, Aubrey sang in her Preschool program. She was loving life on stage! One good thing about having a small little girl is that she gets to stand in the front row. She sang at the top of her voice with hand motions bigger than life. She does everything 100%!
We had some great, well experienced Leprechauns come and stay with us for the weekend of Aubrey's birthday. See if you can see the strategically placed shoe that Grandma leprechaun placed.
Aubrey's birthday was a rainbow pony party which was fitting because we had in on Sat, March 17, St Patty's day. We had rainbows galore and a rave review from the birthday girl, who said, "this was the bestest birthday I ever had". She is already thinking about next year and wants to have a rainbow Unicorn party. Gonna mix it up a bit I guess.
This mom loves making cakes too. Guess it's part of the birthday fun for us!
We had a great birthday/St Patty's weekend with Mom and Dad in town. We started with Misty's birthday dinner with Mom and Dad when we shared the exciting news that their 3 daughters are all going to have babies this year. Nov 20 is Misty's due date.

Then Misty put everyone to work getting ready for Aubrey's party (some things never change). Dad created a fantastic treasure hunt that included p0nies, buried eggs, draw bridges and of course, Sirs and Maidens with one Birthday Princess. The kids loved searching for their treasure over the rainbow. Mom and dad were invaluable in helping pull it all together! Mom and dad left after going to Garrett's basketball game and cheering for their favorite basketball team.

After mom and dad left we spent a beautiful spring day at the park. What a wonderful weekend. Don't know how we could have made it better.

The Long awaited Nursery!

After 3 full days of painting, it's finally done! I am super proud of it, so if you don't like it, don't tell me. The stripes are perfectly straight thanks to the new caulking method I used. We are all set for the baby now, although unfortunately he won't be using his room until he's 4 months old (when we get back from Virginia Beach for Caleb's summer job).

Cassi's Baby Shower

We had a fun baby shower for Cassi this morning. We missed all of you who couldn't come. Cassi got lots of cute baby clothes, blankets, bath stuff...LOTS of stuff.:) Isn't Cassi so cute pregnant?
