This is our little hotel in Chamonix. We started our France trip here and our room was...on the small side but it was all good. As you can see, the mountains are a beautiful backdrop.

Great Grandma

We visited with Great Grandma Gundersen yesterday, and she looked great! Emma loved getting to know her Great Grandma. We sure had a fun time!

Windstar

This is what the Windstar looked like from the land in full sail. It was a beautiful ship!! I don't know how they kept it there, because we were the ones taking this picture. I guess they wanted us to see what it looked like.

Cruising Costa Rica

Oh, you are so lucky! You get to see all of our pictures from Costa Rica. Sit down and relax. This will take some time:)

This is the hotel that we stayed at at the beginning of our trip and at the end. Very nice!!

The next two are our big adventure on the ATV's. We all felt that this was the most fun of the whole trip. We rode these for 3 hours and saw some beautiful country.

While traveling through the coconut plantation, we came across 3 little puppies that were scampering along our path. I had to pick one up. There was no mother around. As you can tell, we went along some really dusty roads. We were covered in red dust.

We're Rolling!!

It's official! As of March 15, 2006, at approximately 3:28 pm, Emma has mastered the roll! Unfortunately, I missed the first one. I had set her down on her back behind me, and when I looked back, she was on her stomach! But I had no need to worry. Once she did it the first time, there was no stopping her. I think she has rolled over at least 10 times since then. Just thought we'd share this momentous occasion with all of you!

Monkey busines in Costa Rica

This is my first blog attempt. This is our pictures of zipping through the tops of the jungle trees. One of the zip lines was 1/4 of a mile long. There were 11 zip lines we went on. It was great fun. But the highlight was the ATV 3 hour ride through the jungle, rivers, villages, waterfalls and coconut plantations. It was great fun. We will have to fill you all in later.

Now I'm Getting This blog stuff

This was our cool Christmas gift for Ty, Dad and Cassi.... INTRODUCING Mellow Blasters (they shoot small marshmellows an incredible distance). Cassi recieved one because she was the 2nd person to send me her pictures for the calendar... (Mindy and Josh being the first, but I had to offer some encouragement to the rest of the gang who weren't quite so prompt. Sorry Dahmers.) So, good to my word Cassi received a mellowblaster for her prize. Please all make a mental note for next year! The early bird gets the Mellowblaster (or other really cool prize)!

Getting my ski fix

No, no. Don't fret. My ski hasn't broken in any way. I'm getting my ski fix not my ski fixed. Yesterday, after a restless night of sleep, I stummbled out of bed at 6 am. I got dressed and headed out the door to pick up my ski buddy, Mark. We headed into Provo Canyon and then into Vivian Park and were parked there by 7. We put on our gear and embarked on our hike into the unknown (ok, so he knew where he was going, but just to build the suspense). Two and a half hours later, and after Mark had to wait for his slow partner many times, we strapped the skis on in preparation to receive our payoff. With legs and lungs already burning, we made hundreds (more like tens) of untouched turns down the mountain through the trees back to the car. All in all, the long hike was worth the twenty minutes spent skiing down to get our fix.

The Emma Update - 3 Months

Emma is growing so fast! She is 3-months old, but already fits into 6-9 month clothes. Ashlyn loves to play with her sister. When the picture of Ashlyn and Emma was taken, Ashlyn had joined Emma under her gymboree--then they both decided that the TV was more interesting.

I've had a lot of people tell me that Emma looks like me. So I thought I'd take a picture and let you decide. What do you think? Is this my daughter? 

My First Glue Job

Well, it was bound to happen...our first big boo-boo. Ashlyn fell off of her high chair and got a gash in her forehead, a black eye, and a bruised cheek. Luckily, it was during regular business hours, so we didn't have to make a trip to the emergency room. However, she did have her first glue job. She's doing fine now and still loves to climb on her high chair. 

Pure Joy

Ashlyn's new thing is to jump off the top of the fridge into Dad's waiting arms. She is fearless. I think these pictures capture how much she loves it!

One of Mindy's favorite pasttimes is taking pictures of her two adorable girls. So cute!! 

Happy Birthday, Caleb!

The first picture was Caleb's birthday dinner that he put together. It was delish! One of Caleb's birthday presents was new scriptures and case. His first new pair since he was twelve.

Caleb & I celebrated his 24th birthday up in Salt Lake City at "The Roof" restaurant atop the Joseph Smith Memorial Building on Saturday. It was delicious food and a great view. We spent a little over two hours there talking and enjoying each other's company. Also it was a buffet-style restaurant so we went back for many seconds, thirds, and fourths during that two hour period. It was a pricy place so we wanted to get our moneys worth. Overall it was a very enjoyable, peaceful night. Pictures made possible by contributers like you (mom and dad). We love our camera!

After almost 9 months of empty walls, Santa brought home decor to the Dahmer household.

The Emma Update - 7 Weeks

At 7 weeks and 1 day, Emma is starting to smile. She has also started cooing, which has been such a delight to her mom and dad.

We're still working on getting her sleeping habits under control but we are loving every moment of it.

Ashlyn continues to be a great helper for mom when a diaper is needed. She also is very concerned for Emma when Emma is crying.
