Dominican Republic-Adults Only

I wrote this for my blog and then transferred everything over to here so that is why it is written this way.

I like labeling my post like that because then it gets everyone's attention because they start thinking some naughty thoughts when really it means exactly what it says, Adults Only.  My parents and all my brothers and sisters with no kids for a whole week.  As much as we love our kids, this was a blast!  Remember when you were kids and you could make up silly games in the water or on the beach just for fun?  You can still do that as an adult!  It's amazing.  And the competition is so much better now!  And since we were without kids and didn't have to set the example, we could all act like kids.  It was like someone set back the clock and we were all young again, playing in our backyard pool with 7 of our BFF's (aka spouses).  The only difference was that our parents were right in there with us, acting like the rest of us and joining in the fun.

Unfortunately my mom got sick on the last night (just trying to be like the rest of us) so my Dad had to eat his anniversary cake alone...well, with his kids.

This was all made possible by these two wonderful people!  We love them so very much and were so grateful to share this experience with them!  They are the epitome of the perfect married couple.  I hope to be just as happy and in love as they are on my 40th wedding anniversary.

Jr Ridge to River Stars

Jade and Madi were in the Wenatahcee Junior Ridge to River race today and did great. I thinks both teams won the best costume award for their age group. The race consisted of 5 legs. 1. Basketball dribble, 2. Run, 3. Bike ride, 4. Obstacle Course and 5. Team noodle run. Jade did the bike leg and Madi did the obsticle course. But the after the individual contestent did the obstacle course they came back and got the whole team to do it together. It was a fun morning.

Jade did a great job riding.  Nobody passed her up.

 The obstacle course was probably the most fun for the whole team.  Madi had a hard time keeping her "purple people eater" hair in place while she ran.

 But once she got it in place she really ran!

The Newest Part of Our Family

We are very excited to announce the newest addition to our family. We rescued him from the human society. He is a mix. They think he's got a little aussie and terrier in him. The vet said he will be about 40 lbs but we don't believe her. He's a good little puppy, and he is great with the boys. Beckham asks about him every morning and Crew get's licked by him all the time. We are really happy.

Jade and Madi stayed with us while Tyler & Adria were in Africa doing humanitarian dental work.  So of cousrse we had to make some masterpieces.  Madi decided our menu for us.  First, Hawiian meat balls, then pizza, next Hawiian meat balls, next pizza...

Valentines was also an importantant event that we got to share with the girsl.  We took Kathleens lead and delivered roses to all the widows in our ward.  It was fun to see the faces of both the widows and the girls.  It was a special event, especially for Barb and I.

I got this email the other day about this race that is going on in Salt Lake that I thought would be so much fun! It reminded me of the Family Great Race (except we will not all be winners). I don't know all the details, but it looks like you do it in couples/teams and we figure out 12 clues and complete "mental and physical challenges". I think this would be SO much fun to do as couples against each other. ( I would love to do it as a big team, but that is against the rules) There is a family division, but when I was reading about it you have to have one person under the age of 18 on your team. Maybe Tyler and Misty could do this with their older kids...

Well this is just a thought, but I just wanted to send it your way. :)

Birthday Thank you

I loved the letters. Thank you so much for thinking of me on my birthday. I loved the memories, and I feel so special that you remembered me on my old making feeling day. Turning 30 is not fun, but I am so happy with my life that I wouldn't change a thing...well out of dental school would be nice. But besides that I wouldn't change a thing...maybe muscles again would be ok. But seriously that's it. I love you all, and thanks again.
